(More customer reviews)I'm thankful I bought this product at Costco, because I could take it back for a full refund. The idea is appealing, and a good deal - you get a lot for a good price. But on closer inspection, there are a couple of significant problems:
1. The contents are redundant.
- Cassette adapter gives better sound than FM transmitter in many cases. If you have a car with a cassette player, you wouldn't need the FM transmitter. If your car doesn't have a cassette player, why would you buy a package with a cassette adapter in it?
- Similarly, at home, you'd get better sound on your stereo by using the cables vs the FM transmitter, even if you do have a tuner.
So unless you plan on using your ipod in a car with a cassette player, a car without a cassette player, and with your home stereo system, having cables, a cassette adapter and the FM transmitter is redundant. You may come out cheaper by buying the components you need separately.
2. The case is TERRIBLE! Honestly, if the case had been good, I would've overlooked the redundancy and likely kept the entire package. But the case was a key component for me. The case in this package covers the iPod on the front, back, sides, and bottom. Since the belt clip swivels, to prevent the iPod from falling out of the top, the case has a suction cup (no joke!) on the inside of the back panel. The case opens up in a flip-down style by un-velcro-ing the side panels. You nest your iPod into the case, sticking it to the suction cup, flip the front of the case into postion, and stick the side velcro strips together. Between the case itself, the suction cup, and the bulky belt clip, the iPod is more than twice as thick in the case as it is alone. It's also significantly wider.
My advice - keep shopping.

(More customer reviews)Well, I don't know exactly why the passPORT won't work for the 1-star reviewer, BUT IT WORKED FOR ME! I got a Panasonic CQ-C7303U radio 2 years ago and then the iPod adapter for it over 1 year ago. At that time, I had the 5th gen iPod video, then after that crapped out on me, I got the 3rd gen. nano (8GB). Then I upgraded to the 4th gen. nano almost as soon as it came out, so I could have double the memory (16GB).

Well, once I got the 4th gen. nano and plugged it into my radio, everything worked (it played/controlled through the radio), but I would get this message at the bottom of the nano's screen saying: "Charging is not supported for this accessory". (Or something like that.) And indeed the nano lost battery power much faster than it would listening to music through the headphones. (It makes since that more juice would be sucked up listening to music through the docking port.) Since I mostly listen to my nano in my truck (Panasonic radio), I depended on the radio to keep it charged up instead of having to plug it into my computer whenever the battery gets low. After doing some reasearch on why this was, I found out that for all the newest ipods (4th gen. nano, 2nd gen. Touch & iPhone 3G) Apple changed the way they charge that only allows 5 volt sources (USB, Apple AC adapters, etc.) and no 12 volt sources (firewire and most 3rd party accessories).
To make a long story short (too late!), I found a link to the passPORT, ordered one and plugged it in. I plugged in my nano on top of it and the message at the bottom of it now just reads: "Accessory is plugged in". (Or something like that) After looking real close, the charge icons appear in the battery symbol (showing charging or charged) and when I unplug it, the battery is fully charged or charged fuller than it was before. It kinda sucks to have to pay $30 to get back a feature that shouldn't have been taken away in the first place, but I guess that's the price of progress?
Well...OK, despite the title, I guess I did have more to say than IT WORKS!**UPDATE**: Just bought a 64GB Ipod Touch (3rd Gen.) and the passPORT works just fine with it too!

There is still too much static and the FM channels are pretty crowded already. I hope the technology develops into better forms in the future. This device is a good way to go for now. (More customer reviews)I purchased this slightly skeptical and I should have gone with my instinct. This was a cheap piece of plastic that wasn't worth the wait or the few dollars I spent on it.
First of all -- the FM transmitter didn't do anything, except fuzz the few stations that it was trying to connect with. The hing on the adaptor was so loose that it kept falling forward, there was no way to tighten it because the "screw" was a piece of plastic that was so soft it stripped it.
Also the clamp that holds the ipod in was so loose that my Ipod kept falling out... I don't know how anyone could sell this.
Also -- found out this seller doesn't take returns, only exchanges.

I mainly bought the package for the wall charger, the case, and hoped the included FM transmitter might work. I was pleasantly surprised by the package. It came quickly and, although rather cheaply made, the products work well. The silicon covers are really handy and protect my iPod from scratches and what not. The FM transmitter works really well with my car radio and I use it frequently with interference only if I jostle my iPod too much. The wall charger works well when charging my iPod while I am away from my computer. My only complaint so far is that the description says the enclosed "leather" case should fit a 3rd Generation iPod but I have not been able to fit my iPod in the case completely and snap the back which is rather annoying at times but the case is good enough for the price. Overall, I believe the price paid for the various accessories is well worth what the package includes.

Scosche Wireless RF Remote Control and FM Transmitter/Charger for iPod nano 1G Review

(More customer reviews)The Scosche remote w/ "transmitter/charger" is falsely represented. Through hours on the phone & computer - many communications w/ Amazon reps and w/ the manufacturer(s), I've learned that Scosche long ago discontinued the "transmitter/charger". These "sets" being sent out contain transmitters w/ no charging function. (nothing on the package says "charge".) The solution is for Amazon to advertise what they actually have - i.e. change their sales material on the website to say "transmitter" and not include the charging function. (you'll still need a car charger or your ipod battery will run down). By the way, the sales material also says something like "compatible w/ all ipods" which it would not be even if it had the ability to charge: I've learned from apple that in determining if a charger can charge an ipod nano "generation 4", the charger has to connect to the nano through the 32 pin connector, not the earphone jack - the nano gen 4 cannot charge through the headphone jack.
Amazon phone representatives are not familiar w/ these products. It would be helpful to future customers if Amazon sales people had access to this information, instead of each customer having to go through this education process. (As I've now learned from a friend here in my own town who went through the exact same thing trying to order an automobile charger for her ipod nano Generation 4 through Amazon.) And, the english of 3 out of 4 of the Amazon phone reps was very difficult to understand (the 4th was a pleasure - so keep trying.)
Like the previous reviewer, the case did not fit my Ipod nano and I had to alter the clear plastic cover of the case w/ a grinder to get it to fit.
I need a remote to control the music when I teach dance - the 60GB ipod that I started with had a very short life, and supposedly this nano will last longer since it does not have a moving hard drive inside - therefore I need a remote that works w/ the nano. This is apparently one of the few (maybe only) RF remotes that will work w/ the configuration of the ports on the bottom of the nano Gen 4. The range on this remote is a little under 100' and not the 150' advertised, but now that I know that, I can adjust when I'm teaching - it seems adequate. The music has a significantly lower volume when connected through the remote than when it is connected directly to the sound system. (not an issue when connected to an amplifier, only an issue in the car.) And, the volume control on the remote does not work when the ipod is connected to the sound system through the remote (Ipod in remote case connected to a charging base station w/ sound system connected to the base and not the earphone jack of the ipod) I've not found a thin enough headphone jack w/ a 90 degree turn to hook the sound system up directly to the nano while its in the charging dock, but it seems like the volume control on the remote may work if I find the appropriate cable.

(More customer reviews)I have to say, I am disappointed. I bought this for my husband for Christmas and it's pretty worthless. The sound quality is horrible when using the FM transmitter, it does not charge the iPod as promised, the part that plugs in to the cigarette lighter moves and our iPod has face planted a few times(ouch!). The cord that connects the iPod to the car (our car has the mp3 port(thingy) in it) works reasonably well. The only problem is if it turns the wrong way you get this loud, awful noise. I say spend a little extra money and get something of quality.

I live in the Phoenix area and I've never experienced problems. However, I had difficulty finding a frequency with clear reception in the LA area.

Scosche Digital FM Transmitter and USB Charger Review

(More customer reviews)I've been using this product for a month now. I gave it 4 stars because my gripes are relatively minor. For one, on a sunny day the LCD screen can be almost impossible to read. I've had occasions where I've had to physically cup around the LCD in order to guess at what station I'm on. My other problem is with the uncomfortable placement of the USB port on the device. The port is right on the side of the device so I have to put my usb cable in it before I put it in the cigarette lighter. The usb cable will be bent all over after use.
The device however really works as it should. A few design flaws don't change that. Make sure to find a station with very little signal out on it already and you'll get nice sound. Not CD quality or anything but I think it's been better than the Griffin ipod car dock I used to have (that I can play my Zune, my old Ipod Nano, and my cousin's sirius portable).
I've attached the usb cable to an old usb hub I had laying around so I can power multiple devices on the very rare occasions that I do. I recommend using an old hub either way so you have your usb slots available to you at any time. Even an extender will do well for you.
If the manufacturer made one with a nicer LCD screen and a more comfortably place USB slot, I think they'd have a winning product just on the versatility alone.
