(More customer reviews)The quality of the audio is considerably below higher end iPod Docks, but it's passable for a dorm room kind of setting. The sound is very compressed and does a decent job in the vocal frequencies and not a heck of a whole lot else. That said, the sound is better than you get with your typical Sony/iHome alarm clock iPod docks and it isn't a whole lot bigger. It also can be louder than those docks.
The ability to load in a SD card or Flash card for music is a nice feature that makes this audio system quite versatile. The remote is easy to use and fairly intuitive. Yes, you can rotate your iPod and watch TV shows and movies, but honestly, who wants to watch TV on such a tiny screen unless you're on a plane (in which case, you'd be using earphones).
The build on this unit is not particularly impressive and I'm guessing that it won't last more than three years. Then again, I won't have my iPod touch at that time either and will have moved onto something new.
If you can get this thing for less than 100 bucks, it's worth it. More than that, and you probably can do better with another dock.

They said they were NEW , when they arrived they werent even in a bag, or with a tag. They didnt appear to be NEW. To NO suprise neither of them worked. Its Too much trouble to try to return things so Im out nearly $50, and I had to buy NEW cords on E-bay (which worked great).

(More customer reviews)I had high hopes for this product --- needed a way to put sound throughout my small house and functionality seemed great (the ability to use different modes in different rooms, ability to use remote with each of the speaker units to control the ipod, etc.) Unfortunately, it did not work as well as hoped.
The base and speakers had a hard time talking to each other, and they were only 50-60 ft apart and in a relatively unobstructed path. Had to move the base closer and align the speaker so that it was in a more direct visual view. Still, with people in the room it would fade in and out. Not sure if this is because I have wireless internet in the house, which the manual says might interfere, but who that would be looking for wireless speakers doesn't have wireless internet??
The sound quality is very good. Not quite as good as my Bose docking station, but I was pleasantly surprised. The other big downside for me with the sound, however, and the last straw that prompted me to return the product, is the volume level. The highest setting is not all that loud. Fine if you are in the same room... but sometimes I would crank up the volume on my Bose docking station and listen to the music in other rooms or outside ... can't really do this with the Sony.

(More customer reviews)This is a great product that i've been using for the past several months. It's one of the more inexpensive options in its class and shouldn't be counted out.
HOWEVER - I see that this product has been getting a lot of very bad reviews and can explain why!
I also ran into the problem of the product working once and then stopping. I exchanged it for a new one and had the same problem *BUT* I figured out that the product just has a small quirk and will actually work every time - and very work very well!!! See, if the transmitter remains plugged into the outlet with the ipod connected for a long period of time when not in use, it will go off and all the buttons will stop working. Instead of displaying the radio station it's tuned to, the display will be black. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS UNPLUG THE IPOD AND PLUG IT BACK IN. The radio station will be displayed again and the transmitter will work! Once i figured out this little trick, i never again had any issue with the product.
I would definitely recommend it!!

(More customer reviews)This item is pretty damn great I must admit. It works. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is the irritating remote that you have to use just to turn it on and off. The sound quality is good in my car but if I turn it up using the remote while it gets louder the static gets really bad. Speaking of static unless I turn up the volume with the remote there isn't any. I don't have to change radio stations all the time! Last thing I wish the neck were flexible. Where my lighter is in my car makes where the iPod sit kinda awkward it's straight up and I can't read the songs. Still a great product.

(More customer reviews)This is a great and useful product, but must be turned to European mode to reach 87.7 - 87.9 since for some reason Griffin thinks that they are not allowed to use these frequencies (they are).
On the FM transmitter box, push the middle button (Function) and then press and hold the "Mode" button (the right one) for approximately 10 seconds. When you let go you will see a menu for "Us" "Eu" "Ja", select the middle button, "Eu". Let the device sit for a few seconds until it goes back to the main screen, then tune your radio and the transmitter to 87.7 - 87.9! Now you can use the device on the frequencies that will rarely give you interference (I have the best luck in St. Louis with 87.7).
