(More customer reviews)The quality of the audio is considerably below higher end iPod Docks, but it's passable for a dorm room kind of setting. The sound is very compressed and does a decent job in the vocal frequencies and not a heck of a whole lot else. That said, the sound is better than you get with your typical Sony/iHome alarm clock iPod docks and it isn't a whole lot bigger. It also can be louder than those docks.
The ability to load in a SD card or Flash card for music is a nice feature that makes this audio system quite versatile. The remote is easy to use and fairly intuitive. Yes, you can rotate your iPod and watch TV shows and movies, but honestly, who wants to watch TV on such a tiny screen unless you're on a plane (in which case, you'd be using earphones).
The build on this unit is not particularly impressive and I'm guessing that it won't last more than three years. Then again, I won't have my iPod touch at that time either and will have moved onto something new.
If you can get this thing for less than 100 bucks, it's worth it. More than that, and you probably can do better with another dock.

(More customer reviews)It's not a bad package all in all -- lightweight, runs off C batteries or an AC power adapter, charges your iPod when docked, and has dock adapters for all but the newest iPod nano models. It was a pleasant surprise to find that the box also included a 1/8" phone plug cable for connecting non-iPod devices and a 12V car power adapter.
My iPod mini and 5G iPod fit snugly into the dock, and the secure fit makes it much easier to use the click wheel than on competing products where the iPod can wobble a bit.
The sound quality is merely adequate and bass is nonexistent. You just can't expect very much from such a small unit. So much for the "Rich full sound" promised by the advertising copy.
I'm rating it only 2 stars because it's not worth the MSRP. I was able to pick one up for a good deal less than list price because of a sale at the local electronics superstore, but with the normal pricing it just doesn't offer a whole lot for the money.

(More customer reviews)I had high hopes for this product --- needed a way to put sound throughout my small house and functionality seemed great (the ability to use different modes in different rooms, ability to use remote with each of the speaker units to control the ipod, etc.) Unfortunately, it did not work as well as hoped.
The base and speakers had a hard time talking to each other, and they were only 50-60 ft apart and in a relatively unobstructed path. Had to move the base closer and align the speaker so that it was in a more direct visual view. Still, with people in the room it would fade in and out. Not sure if this is because I have wireless internet in the house, which the manual says might interfere, but who that would be looking for wireless speakers doesn't have wireless internet??
The sound quality is very good. Not quite as good as my Bose docking station, but I was pleasantly surprised. The other big downside for me with the sound, however, and the last straw that prompted me to return the product, is the volume level. The highest setting is not all that loud. Fine if you are in the same room... but sometimes I would crank up the volume on my Bose docking station and listen to the music in other rooms or outside ... can't really do this with the Sony.

(More customer reviews)When I first bought this clock, it worked perfectly. After two months, the display screen just died on me. Every single character that could possibly be viewed on my clock screen was there. I sent it back to the manufacturer with one day left on the warranty. It took a month and a half, but I got a new one at my own shipping expense. I noticed that the new one had a weird and very faint high pitched ring to it, even when the radio was off. Other than that, it was fine for the next five months. Then the screen died again. I would recommend not buying this product.

(More customer reviews)I saw this for sale at a local store, so I thought I would do some digging for information. Unfortunately, there is almost zero. It doesn't say it anywhere online or on the box, but this will indeed charge your iPhone 3G. It's possible that they did not want to pay for licensing. Since it will charge the 3G, it should charge all of the new non-firewire iPods (Nano 5G, etc).
It's nice and compact, but certainly sturdy. Once you take a leaf through the instruction manual, it's very easy to use. Not one of those things I recommend to start pushing buttons feet-first, because you'll probably be woken up at 2:30am by accident.
What else can I say about it? It charges my iPhone, plays pretty well (a 5.1 system this isn't), has an aux-in for a Zune, etc, has dual-alarms with 3-4 different options each. If you're looking for a cheap replacement for your firewire-charging alarm clock, this is a good choice.
