RCA Pearl 1 GB MP3 Player with FM Radio and Direct USB (Black) Review

I am baffled by the negative reviews for this thing. My kids got these today for Christmas and so far, they are great! I loaded almost 250 songs in about 5 minutes. It's possible that if you have trouble loading music into this thing, you just don't know how to use your computers file system. You can drag and drop from anywhere you keep your music on your computer or use windows media player to sync it perfectly. The file system is similar to an ipod. You can select from artist, album and song. Great sound. The 1GB is not expandable but for an 8 and 10 yr. old 300 songs is plenty. It's about the size of a Bic lighter. It doesn't have any sort of clip and the software it comes with is not that great but you really don't need it anyway because it's easy enough to drag and drop as i've already mentioned. If your getting this for jogging or the gym or for kids or even audio books, this thing will work fine.

Sleek, slender, and absolutely stunning--exactly what you'd expect from a Pearl, one of RCA's Gem line of digital audio players. Not only can you download and listen to your favorite songs easily, but you also can enjoy the ability to listen and record FM radio directly onto your Pearl.
No Cords Required The Pearl's direct USB connector design means you can quickly download your favorite open MP3, open WMA, and unprotected AAC tracks from any computer. This multifunction device will double as your MP3 player and a USB data storage device.
Expandable Want more room? Not a problem. Add expandable memory in the MicroSD card slot and load it up with music. This option gives you the flexibility you need to store additional songs, audio books, and other large files.
Crystal Clear View The Pearl's 0.8-inch OLED screen provides a vibrant viewing experience. A quick glance is all you need to see your navigation or information about the current track.
Tune in While You're Out Better than a simple FM receiver, the Pearl allows you to record while listening to an FM station. The player will store the MP3 file until you're ready to listen again or download it to your computer.

Sandisk Sansa Clip 4 GB MP3 Player (Black) Review

I am usually very careful and consider all options before buying anything, when it came to the Sansa Clip 4 GB it was love at first site, I was hooked once I saw the diminutive little booger, impulse buy on the spot. I had been looking for an small FM radio to wear at the gym an almost impossible feat these days and most of the "mini" MP3 players either don't offer the options I deemed necessary, IE; the ability to choose what I want to listen to, or are too large and get in the way, the teeeenie Clip seemed to offer the best of both worlds, and for $50 large I figured it was a small gamble.
I really did not have very high expectations, considering I have four mini FM radios with more different ways to attach to one's body it would make a bondage expert blush. I was also very weary about the built in FM player, since most small FM receivers I had tried were not worth spit. So to my amazement when I downloaded 3.5 GB of songs from my Windows Media player,(which was brainless by the way) and had a listen, I nearly fell out of my chair, this thing sounds unbelievable!!! And to top it off the FM player actually worked and worked well!
I figured maybe it was due to the fact that I was listening through a set of full ear Sennheiser studio quality headphones, so I started to niggle around and listen through my litany of other headphones and earbuds I have gathered over the past couple of years. Results, the sound was good with some, poor with the buds that came with the player, and UN-FRICKEN REAL with a pair of Skullcandy INK'D $20.00, ($14.99 Amazon) buds I purchased the same day as a back up to my Shure EC3'S I use with my First Gen IPod.
I found it hard to believe the clarity and detail of the Clip when paired with the Skullcandy INK'D buds, this combination exceeded all the other headphones and buds in my collection, which includes (stupid money) Grados. I asked myself why would a $20.00 set of cheap buds sound better than a $500 dollar pair of some of the finest headphones ever made?? Answer, sensitivity, plug the Grado or Sennheiser's into a DAC headphone amp (CityPulse overclocked) played through a OPPO DV980H upscaled to 192k, and yes the difference is more than obvious, so is the $1200 ticket price to the show. What is truly mind boggling for $1140 dollars less you can get in the game with the Sansa Clip/Skullcandy INK'D combo, which sounds better than most home systems costing $100's more. Yes that's right folks for $60-70 bucks you can get some amazing detail, clarity and bass response in the perfect "bang for the buck micro system". Top that off it comes in a package that is transparent, has all the features of the "Big Boy Players" and an FM player that is more than acceptable!
This one is a no brainer, open your wallet just a crack, part with what you would spend on a cheap date and pick up this combo, you will be happy you did, and best of all you can take the player home after dinner.
PS: to the guy who stated this is a 3.4 GB player and gave it 3 stars, you don't need to download the software that comes with the player which takes up most of the missing space, I have 3.8 GB of music on mine! The player works like a SD card it does not need software to work...

SanDisk Sansa Clip 1 GB MP3 Player (Black) Review

SanDisk Sansa Clip 1 GB MP3 Player (Black)

The Sandisk Sansa Clip 1GB is a great value MP3 player. It has the same capacity as the iPod Shuffle at $35. It also has a screen, FM Tuner, voice recording and more. You can get the 2GB version for $25-40 more.
Pros -
+ good sound
+ nice capacity for a decent price
+ light-weight
+ FM tuner (20 Presets)
+ voice recording
+ nice design with color options
+ Nice format compatibility (MP3, DRM WMA, WMA, Audible)
+ USB 1.1 and 2.0 connectivity
+ Can be used as a USB drive / mass storage
+ Can sync music with drag & drop or via software
+ 15 hours battery life is better than Creative Clip Plus
Cons
- larger than the 2nd and 3rd generation iPod shuffles
- for just $20 more you get the 2GB Clip with added features
The new Sandisk Sansa Clip has the advantages of the iPod shuffle with some of the compatibility, feature, and price benefits of other MP3 players. Unlike the Sansa Express, which you can plug in directly into your USB port, the clip uses a standard USB B cable.
The Clip is definitely a little bigger than the iPod shuffle, but not by much. It has a great feel and a nicer clip. It is also priced VERY well for the holidays. It fills the market for a starter MP3, workout unit, or gift.
The rechargable battery seems better than the Creative Zen Stone Plus and gives you a respectable 15 hours. The sound is nice. The earbuds are passable for beginners but most people will replace them. As for durability, only time will tell; so far it's holding up nicely.
The Zen Clip also has a larger 2GB option. For those needing more space, you will have to explore the Creative Zen, Sandisk Sansa View or new iPod Nano. All of those units have higher price tags.

Overall, an awesome starter unit that deserves a try. Enjoy!!!

Aerielle i2i FM Transmitter and Charger for iPod and MP3 Players (Black) Review

Aerielle i2i FM Transmitter and Charger for iPod and MP3 Players (Black)
Average Reviews:

(More customer reviews)
I owned and used a DLO FM transmitter for the Creative Zen Vision:M until it fell apart (and the Zen Vision:M itself was replaced by a Zen 32GB), so I needed a new one. Not having an iPod narrowed down the choices considerably, and eventually, after doing a lot of research, I decided to risk the Aerielle i2i.
My reasons:
1. It works with any MP3 player because it functions via the headphone jack;
2. It can charge any MP3 player -- or any other electronic device, for that matter -- that charges on USB, and play music at the same time;
3. You can input any FM frequency between 88.1 and 107.9, especially useful when you're looking for an unused FM frequency in a big town;
4. It includes the 3.5 mm audio cable that will allow it to reproduce the player's sound. It also includes the USB cable, but most of us have dozens of those lying around.
Setting this FM transmitter up is straightforward and logical. Its compact body contains the LCD display that shows the FM frequency, the tune up and tune down buttons, three station present buttons and the power / cigarette lighter plug. The body is connected to a small extension by a short cable. This extension contains the 3.5 mm audio jack (for sound) and the USB connector (for charging). Although this layout seems awkward at first, it makes sense because you never have to remove the transmitter from the power socket to plug or unplug devices from the 3.5 mm or USB connectors -- everything is close by and easily reachable.
The Aerielle i2i seems to be solidly and well built, and its texturized finish is non-slip. It does exactly what it is supposed to do: transmit the MP3 player's sound to the car's sound system. The sound quality depends on finding a free FM band, not so easy in the congested big towns but not a problem the farther away you get from them. My first run with it was in a metropolis, so all I got was acceptable sound quality -- on par with my dismembered DLO. I'll complement this review once I try the Aerielle out on the empty road, but so far it is doing well.
