(More customer reviews)I could not be happier with this product. I (female) installed it myself in less than 10 minutes (will require you to have the keys on hand to pop out the factory stereo). I did not want it installed inside the glove compartment since I am using it with my iPhone 4 and need to have access to my phone so I installed behind/under factory stereo. No problem whatsoever. The music sound is magnificent, radio and CD works well, too. Make sure you ground the black wire, though. I think it is the antenna. There are several videos on YouTube that will show you exactly how to install it. I like it so much in my 2005 VW Passat TDI that I ordered another one to install in our 2004 VW Touareg TDI. If you have an older vehicle that you can't just plug your iPod into, this is the way to go. You cannot go wrong with this one!! It also keeps my phone charged, which is an added bonus. Now you can watch movies on your iPad and listen through the speakers! I am very happy with this product.

The PA11 series iPod interfaces provide direct connection for an iPod plus an optional audio source such as satellite radio, DVD, or video game system. Both the iPod and the additional audio source are selected from the factory radioâ??s front panel. The interface adapter connects the iPod to your factory radio as if it were a CD changer, allowing direct selection of iPod playlists through the radioâ??s preset (or disc) buttons and is compatible with iPod models featuring the dock connector, including the iPod nano and 5G iPod video. There are two operating modes available for the interface, Playlist Mode and Direct Mode. Playlist Mode uses the controls on the factory radio to provide basic navigation functions including song up/down, playlist up/down, repeat, shuffle, scan, and FF/REW functions. Direct Mode uses the iPod's click wheel to navigate through the iPod's menus and select songs, artists, playlists, etc. and the radio buttons are used only for volume, bass and treble. Both modes still charge the iPod while connected, and stops one hour after the iPod is paused to prevent over-charging.Note: Display of artist and song title information, track search by artist, song title, album or genre are NOT supported. Only the Playlist and track numbers are displayed. (More customer reviews)AFTER PLAYING WITH THE PRODUCT FOR A DAY, I CAN HONESTLY SAY PHOTOS ARE FAKED! These things do not function in any way, shape or form with suction or have any suction properties to them whatsoever! The photograph of the phone attached to the dash is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE WITHOUT THE USE OF AN ADHESIVE! There is absolutely no reason under physics why that phone should be sticking to the "pebble" which is sticking to the dash. THEY AREN'T DESIGNED TO STICK TO ANYTHING! They are pieces of rubber that have some friction properties, but that's it!
I thought this would be the perfect solution for placing my iPod on my dashboard (as in the photos), but there is no way possible those photos were not faked in someway based on my attempt to use them (and my experiences in advertising).
I do not trust my iPod with these things AT ALL. They are just a recipe for disaster and broken machines. You touch it the wrong way (and since it's an iPod Touch, NOT touching it is a little tricky), and it's down-CRACK- on to the table, and little useless rubber pieces go bouncing around. If you put them in your car, I guarantee you wouldn't get out of park before you realized what a terrible, terrible idea it would be to trust your device to be stable on your dash while driving. Actually, I'm pretty sure it would just come tumbling down the second you moved into drive or reverse. I'm not joking.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID! FIND ANOTHER SOLUTION! COMPLETELY DISHONEST PRODUCT AND ADVERTISING! AMAZON WILL BE ALERTED!

(More customer reviews)This item only works through my truck stereo. Every other stereo I own whether it be home stereo or car stereo, it is mostly static. It's as if I am off one number on the station I'm transmitting through and the music can barely be heard over the static. Also the range is awful. If it's not within 6 inches of the stereo, the static starts. I wouldn't recommend this product to anyone.

(More customer reviews)I wondered why this was priced so low and after trying it I can see why. You do get what you pay for in most cases. There were absolutely no instructions for this which I didn't think was a problem, it looked pretty straight-forward to me. I plugged it in to my car, tried adjusting the device to match an "empty" radio frequency and that was the first problem. There are only 4 choices and none of those seemed to be empty. I finally choose one and then plugged in my kindle (also tried my ipod and another mp3 player hoping it would work with something). All I got was static with a faint voice or song, depending on the device but after jiggling the plug a bit, finally had it working. I found I had to turn the radio way up for it to work well and everytime I rounded a corner or hit a bump, I lost the Kindle and the radio or static would blare out and deafen me.

1. You have to press the "on" button every time you turn on the car or plug this in. I would prefer if it simply turned on as soon as you plugged it in or as soon as the cigarette lighter power was active.
2. I tested in my car with an old ipod photo and there was a slight buzz in the audio. In my gf's car with her iphone 4, it sounded clearer with no discernible buzz.
The pros:
1. Inexpensive!
2. Works with iphone 4
3. Good sound quality
4. Appears identical to Grantwood FM Transmitter, but a few bucks cheaper and without the unneeded 'sticky pad'.

(More customer reviews)I was a little hesitant to spend $100 on an FM transmitter, but I had a gift card so why not? The auto-tune scans quickly, but it is frustrating. Maybe it is because Pittsburgh seems to have a ton of radio stations, but I'm sure no more than any other bigger city. It has a hard time picking a frequency that will allow me to drive the 8 miles from my office to home without having to stop and rescan. Sure I could use the presets to store three stations, but that's assuming this transmitter can overpower them.
One other thing is that the signal it broadcasts is pretty faint: you have to crank the volume up on the radio to hear the audio clearly. Your poor ears will suffer if the radio frequency suddenly overpowers the transmitter! My Griffin Technologies Navigate inline FM radio and remote doesn't require a massive volume setting to work and it uses the same docking connector.
I'll keep it for another week and see if the problem is the user and not the product, but I hope there are better options.
