(More customer reviews)I bought the PYLE 19in Monitor/DVD combo to keep my kids entertained on long road trips. After we had it installed we found out the monitor didn't work so we sent it back ($50+ shipping we had to pay for) and got a new one. Got the 2nd one installed only to find out the DVD player wouldn't read any discs and put nasty scratches on the discs that we tried to play. My husband and I and the installation tech tried to contact PYLE several times and got no answer and no return calls or email responses so we returned the 2nd one (again, another $50+ in shipping we had to pay for). Don't waste your money or your time with this product - it's a piece of junk! And after their lack of support, we'll never buy another PYLE product again.

The installation was a breeze, but if you are not comfortable with dismantling the back of a seat and hard wiring it to the vehicle yourself Take it to a professional. The screen is good not great but for the kids they are just happy to have cartoons playing. The color (gray) is a slight off in shades in my Mercedes but it is close enough. I have had the unit for about a month now and ran it to another older headrest unit I had so now I can use this one to show the video on both headrests. I gave it 4 stars not because of anything bad but if you want a headrest on a budget it is about as good as you can get. I will see how it holds up over time.....

(More customer reviews)I just had these installed and I'm so happy with them. I wanted to install them myself but couldn't figure out how to get into my seats to pull the wires. I have a Jeep Grand Cherokee with cloth interior so no access panels. I don't have the problem with them fitting loose and making noises at all, as mentioned in a previous review. I do agree they seem a little big, but I've only had them installed about 1 week and I'm already used to their appearance. The notches in the posts aren't deep enough, so the headrest doesn't really lock into place, they slide up and down without having to press the release buttons (not really a big deal to me since they fit snug enough you still have to exert some force to move them). I had a little trouble figuring out how to turn on the IR for wireless headphone and the FM modulator option, but eventually got that problem solved with the help of Audiosavings (thanks for the help guys!). My kids 2-1/2 and 7-1/2 really like this system and I am so excited to not have the cords and wires draped around like i had with the strap on type dvd system I had before, (although they are much cheaper). The only thing I wish these had is a tilt screen which is an option in a different brand I was considering (Power Acoustik), but they cost almost twice as much as these. Not quite worth it to me. Overall I really don't think you can go wrong with these unless you have a very small car.

Lows: Games/game controller are low quality. No headphones.
I purchased this Pyle DVD headrest to replace a similar looking non-branded DVD headrest that I purchased on ebay that only lasted 30days before the display went out. I will never get burned by ebay and questionable sellers with no warrany and a 7-day return policy again. Note: I wasn't able to leave feedback to warn others on ebay because it was past 30days. Ebay simply said Oh-well, that's our policy.
This Pyle DVD headrest has a 1 year warranty and it has the video/audio in/out cables to connect 2 of these DVD headrest in the car. The kids love the option of watching their own movie or watching the same movie. Our kids are 6 and 8, so my wife or I usually have to get the movies going because the remote might be confusing, at least until they get used to it.
The Pyle DVD headrest is better quality than the ebay unit I replaced. For example, the hinge is more robust and the flat, flexible ribbon cables have a strain relief and guide to prevent damage. All around it seems that Pyle's engineering specified a higher end product. The instruction manual is also better than the off-brand unit that I have.
The IR headphones that we had from the previous headrest work perfect with the Pyle DVD headrest and have both A and B channels. I wish Pyle included a set.
Don't buy it for the games.

(More customer reviews)Installed this last week in my 2008 Jeep Commander. It was a pretty easy install, minus dropping the headliner in my jeep which consumed most of my time.
The picture on the unit is very good! Also, like the FM Transmitter function to tune it into my Jeeps stereo. One small problem is I do get some interferance with the FM Transmitter when I am in the city or very built up areas. I have yet to try all the FM frequency's within its range yet. On a side note I spoke to my local stereo install shop and they stated they add length to the Antenna wire when they put it above the head rest and this corrects that issue. I will try that next. The unit also works perfect with the IR (Infa Red) headphones I purchased seperately. Also, I like the fact you can get these in multiple colors to match the interior of the car. Hey for $150 and a few hours to install very nicely, it can't be beat and looks nicer than some factory setups.
I would purchase again and do recommend this item.
