Got my Griffin Ipod FM Transmitter back in January 2010. It worked fine for about 6 months, then suddenly, my songs would pause in the middle of tracks. I would press play and it work work for a few minutes then pause again. My friend did some research for me, and found that these SmartScans have issues with the ipod or iphone jiggling around from motion of the car, and the mp3 player becoming undocked. Eventually I couldn't make it through one song without having problems.
The Ipod I have works with other FM Transmitters and docks. I also tried some of the different specific mounts that come with the dock (you get around 7 different mounts labeled for different Ipods/ Iphones) as well as different mp3 players. Same problem.
I got so fed up with my media player pausing every 10 seconds that I quit using it. I have now reverted to my old $15 FM transmitter from Walmart that just plugs into the headphone jack. Do yourself a favor and save $70.
