(More customer reviews)Well, here's Samsung's answer to the ipod nano, and it's a beauty. Yes, this is the RED Samsung K3 2GB mp3 player with built-in FM tuner. The unit is sleek, stylish, easy to use, and it offers EXCELLENT sound. The earbuds provided sound as good as my Sennheiser earbuds, unexpected performance for pack-ins. Though I haven't filled the K3's memory to capacity, it would appear to hold around thirty albums or 500 songs at the standard 128bit sound quality. There are a number of EQ settings designed for different types of music, but you can also set up your own custom setting using the built-in seven-band equalizer. FM performance is excellent as well, with adjustable sensitivity. The little color screen works great as a GUI but washes out in sunlight and doesn't do the greatest justice to your photos. This unit excels at playing music, not displaying photos. Beyond that, battery life is claimed to be 25 hours. I have been using the K3 with the Belkin mp3 armband designed for nanos and K3's, and it's very unobtrusive and comfortable to wear. For someone who grew up in an era of portable battery-powered record players accompanied by a stack of worn 45's, this is an amazing device!

Mac PC USB Wireless FM Transmitter 4 Home Stereo Audio Review

(More customer reviews)I wanted to be able to listen to my favorite radio stations on my office stereo, and my favorite local station often has static, plus I wanted to listen to stations all over the world with high quality sound. I originally wanted one of those systems that would communicate directly with my wireless router, so I wouldn't have to have my PC on. Those systems are fairly expensive, most over $100, and from reviews, seem to have issues. So, I thought, this is an inexpensive solution, and the one review at the time was positive, so I decided to give it a try. I don't really spend much time in my home office without the PC on, so that didn't seem to be a problem.
Anyway, this is a perfect solution if you want to listen to Internet radio on a stereo system. Sound quality depends on the station, presumably the bitrate, so it's not always great but if the stream is of good quality, the sound is wonderful. I've tried comparing the sound quality of stations I can get locally with their online versions, and you do pay a price. The depth of sound just isn't there, but the complete absence of static more than makes up for it. And for me, there's no alternative. Also, the fact that it streams audio from the PC means I can keep a large list of stations I want to access on the PC, which I think is far simpler than trying to do that on a component that communicates directly with the router.
Setup was a breeze, I literally just plugged it into a USB port, set the dip switches to the frequency I had chosen, set my tuner to that frequency, and that was it. Well, also had to adjust the volume on Windows, it thinks this is a pair of USB speakers, and the default volume was low, so increasing it meant that the volume on the stereo matched that of local radio stations. But really, it could not be simpler. Of course now all the audio from my PC goes to the stereo, it would be nice if I could confine the audio I want to go there to the transmitter and the rest of the audio to my PC speakers, but haven't figured out a way to do that. Not a big problem though. And, the audio from this decvice can be picked up on the other stereos in my home.
One quibble: The information I had at the time I ordered did not tell me what FM (tuner)frequencies could be used. I read an online review from some stereo publication on the device, where the author was actually in the UK (I'm in the US). He had said that the allowable frequencies were at the low end, around 89 MHz, so no trouble finding an unused frequency, which is necessary. When I received the transmitter, however, I found I was restricted to 5 frequencies around 107 MHz. I live one hour north of New York City, so finding an empty frequency in that range is a challenge. I had only one choice, 107.3, not used by a local station but there was significant bleed from others. However, when I plugged in the device, the carrier wave instantly overrode that noise, so it's not an issue, but I think it would make much more sense to use the lower end of the band. Someone near a big city might have trouble finding an unused frequency in the upper end. Or, add another dip switch to allow more combinations, and thus more possible frequencies.
Otherwise, I think this is a great product, and probably the best, most cost-effective solution, if you want to listen to Internet radio (or anything else from your PC) on a conventional stereo system.

I've been using it for the past week and I have to say this device has far exceeded my expectations.
The quality of the sound is great, it's super easy to use (plug it in press on and then scroll up or down to set it to an FM station that isn't being used by a local radio station), and the price is outstanding.
I'd highly recomend this product to anyone who owns an ipod.

When I first plugged it into my cigarette lighter I immediately noticed radio interference, I tried tuning the device and my stereo to different frequencies and it didn't help much. However, the device works and I can hear the iPod of my iphone play on the radio but with a little buzzing sound in the background, if you turn the volume up enough you can't really hear it. The hands free also works good but sometimes people tell me that they can hear a small eco on their side of the call. I'm not entirely sure if it's the device that causes the interference or if it's just my car because I've plugged in other charging devices into the cigarette lighter and I always have the same interference problem. I don't want to recommend it because I'm not entirely happy with it, but who knows maybe you will have better luck in your car, so I don't want to say not to try it. I will continue to use it because the buzzing is really not that noticeable once I'm playing music.

MONSTER ZU FM-CH PS Carplay Wireless Plus Charger Designed for Zune Review

(More customer reviews)After researching wireless FM transmitters to use with the Zune in my car, I had serious doubts about all the negative feedback that these Monster units received. So I bought this unit from Amazon to try it out for myself.
The negative reviews are true-- static interference even on the clearest channels. The sound quality is awful given what this thing costs. The product feels and looks cheap as well. Not to mention, the clearest channel I could find for the use of this product was 87.9 MHz, but the channel memory on this unit doesn't go any lower than 88.1 MHz! Ridiculous.
Believe the reviews. Don't waste your time or your money on this unit. After testing it out for about an hour, I had mine packaged and ready to return to Amazon for a refund.(Brand new CD decks with front auxiliary input are available for as much as this unit. Might as well just upgrade your deck)

(More customer reviews)When I first hooked this up to my iPod, it worked as expected...the first time. I used it for about 20 minutes. The second time, about 10 minutes into using it the FM transmitter seemed to stop transmitting. I made sure it was completely in the 12V outlet and all the connections were secure, and it was on the right FM frequency. Even without the iPod attached, there should be silence on the frequency on which it's transmitting, but it was just static. The charging part of it still works fine. The FM transmitter works off and on for apparently no reason. Even when it is transmitting, the cord that goes to the headphone jack is very spotty - you have to turn it around in the jack just right or you only get sound to one side of the car or there's a lot of static. My headphones work just fine, so it's not the jack on the iPod. When it's actually transmitting and everything is adjusted just right, it sounds great. I'd return it, but for $9 it's not even worth paying the return shipping. So, if you're looking for a charger, it works fine. If you're looking for an FM transmitter, I'd look elsewhere.

(More customer reviews)the monster itravel charge is a well-made charger that is meant to be used in both cars (plugged into the lighter) and in airplanes. the itravel charge does not allow ipods to play through the radio. if you need or want to listen to your ipod through your car's external speakers, consider the other monster chargers. in the last year i have used two belkin car chargers and one griffen charger. all of them have been a waste of money. they have fallen apart, literally. my daughter's monster icar charger has been going strong without a hitch for the last two years. at full retail price monster car chargers are money well spent. at the price amazon is charging they are practically a steal. i'd recommend buying two, but don't think the second would ever get used.

There were only two or three docks out there that had both aux out and FM transmitter functionality. Most of the reviews I read mentioned the terrible clips that hold on to the iPod and the flimsy necks that flop around on rough roads and I agree. The FM transmitter works well and puts out a good clean signal but is nowhere near the quality you get when you use the aux line out. The "clearscan" feature looks for the cleanest radio channel on which to broadcast and the functions are easy to use. My biggest issue is with the overly complicated use of different clips and rubber pads needed to accommodate the different iPod models, they ship you about 6 of each and they are all incredibly tight. This is probably due to the fact that the base tilts to allow the different models to go into landscape mode but I would have preferred a clamp that can be adjusted. I use a stick on "skin" to protect against scratches and it was nearly impossible to insert and remove the iPhone withou a lot of effort and the skin is only a few millimeters thick. I ended up heating up the clips to get them to open up a bit. Some people have reported the clips breaking within a few days of use, but "bending" them out has allowed them to function problem free for a few months now.
I really miss my old DLO Transdoc but it isn't compatible with the newer iPods and iPhone that don't support firewire charging.

Why pay 0.99 to anyone for DRM crippled tracks?
The artist doesn't benefit.
I listen to CDs I have bought and ripped.
For that purpose, this unit works beautifully with *any* OS including Mac X, WinXP, even Linux.
The e270 can act like a flash/keychain drive:
just go into the Settings menu and change the USB mode.
The e270 also shows the album art (folder.jpg) while playing tracks.
The e200 series has a beautiful display, better than the Nano.
I wouldn't whine about the design being imitative:
the Nano has better quality buttons/wheel,
the e270's controls are comparatively flimsy-feeling and are harder for large fingers to operate.
Besides, didn't Apple copy from *Creative's* mp3 players in the first place?
The courts are reviewing that question now.
THE ISSUE.
My only issue is that the USB cable is proprietary, mandatory, and irreplaceable.
And, Sandisk is currently unable to provide a replacement if you lose it.
Without the special Sandisk USB cable, you can't even recharge the on-board Lithium battery,
and also there's no wall wart for AC power available either.
By contrast, my previous Sandisk e140 player (a 1GB model) uses an AAA battery
--and the same USB cable most digital cameras use.
Battery- and connection-wise the e140 is a better solution,
but the drawback is a dim monocolor display.
If you have good eyesight, the e140 is a great economy player;
but the e270 is the ultimate luxury toy.
Everyone who sees my e270 is smitten.
UPDATE July 6th -
Sandisk says it is _now_ able to ship me a replacement
"e270 to USB" cable, so give them credit for that.
Also, according to internet rumor, Griffin makes an e270-compatible wall-wart (AC Power) solution.
Finally, no solution is available yet to the "cannot play-tracks-in-album-order" issue,
a problem I failed to mention above.
This might drive you seriously insane when you play Mozart or Beethoven on the thing when the IV movement isn't played fourth.
Or, when an mp3 audio book can't be played
in chapter order!
We're waiting every day for the firmware update from Sandisk that fixes this track ordering bug.
